In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus is asked, “Which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He replies, “You shall love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, and with ALL your soul, and with ALL your mind. This is the greatest commandment. Loving God with everything we have – heart, soul, and mind – is a tall order, but one that Jesus tells us is of the utmost importance. In fact, all other laws, past, present, and future, build upon this one.

At AHCC, we are learning what it means to be ALL IN! We are practicing what it means to be a community of faithful human beings committed to INQUIRY and ACCEPTANCE, a community seeking to have real IMPACT in the world. This isn’t easy work – but it is the work of our time, the work we are being called to as disciples, as those who love the Lord!

Being ALL IN means taking seriously our call to be good stewards of the gifts and resources we have been given, and to commit our dollars to the ministry and vision of AHCC, pledging an amount that challenges and excites us, blesses us and makes us eager to see how the future unfolds. This will look different for everyone, but one thing is certain – your help is needed!

As you know, pledging enables the church staff to budget for the upcoming year. And your financial support provides so much: inspiring and transformational worship, exceptional music and arts programming, a voice for justice for the marginalized and oppressed, high-quality educational experiences for people of every age, pastoral care, and so much more.

For all this to be possible, we ALL need to be ALL IN!

If you have questions about pledging (your pledge the previous year, how to pledge online and set up recurring payments), please do not hesitate to reach out to Deb Holden, Program Assistant, at 860.216.9833.

Jesus uses the word ALL. Not some, not most, but all. When you love God with everything you are and have, you are also blessed beyond measure. Don’t let the opportunity to pledge pass you by. Take a risk, be bold, and see what God has in store for your life when you give the best of who you are to the work of Christ’s Church.

It’s a new day and a new era at Asylum Hill Congregational Church, where “all things are possible …” but only with your support and your commitment.

Please join us in worship for Stewardship Season, Sundays in May.
