This summer, my two younger daughters learned to swim. And I mean really swim. At the beginning of the summer, both were very tentative in the water. They didn’t dare go in over their heads, and if they ventured out, it was only by clinging to something substantial like an adult or a floatie. Both were incredibly fearful and made it known.
In the spring, a bold and exciting decision was made by church leadership to hire two new full-time associate ministers, one to focus on early to mid-life, and the other to focus on the later phases of life, always looking for ways to collaborate, support, and create strong links across all ages and life stages.
Artist Paul Baylock grew up in New Britain. Throughout his career, he has drawn his imagery from vintage publications and Popular Mechanics magazines from the 1950s and ‘60s, as well as from New Britain iconography, factory architecture, and locally produced hardware. His father worked at New Britain Machine Co.
Drive Members to Church
Drivers are needed to provide transportation to the 10:15am service for our refugee family (mother, father, two children, ages 10 and 12) who live on Wethersfield Ave in Hartford, as well as a single woman who lives near the church. If you are willing to help, please contact June Day at 860.874.6430 by text or leave a message.
