AHCC presents an all Music for Humanity Concert Series. Music for Humanity Concerts join the music and outreach ministries of Asylum Hill Congregational Church. This endowed music series presents community concerts in AHCC’s historic sanctuary. And since presentation costs are covered by this fund, all proceeds from ticket sales are directed to Hartford area service agencies and community programs supported by the church.

Friday, October 13, 8PM, $20  |  Purchase tickets for Jazz Samaritan Alliance
A collective of composer/performers who have united to create and present original, socially conscious jazz, charter members Kris Allen (alto saxophone), Noah Baerman (piano), and Chris Dingman (vibraphone) will be joined by Nadje Noordhuis (trumpet) and Ike Sturm (bass) for a program of pieces composed for the occasion that addresses the topic of domestic violence. This event is produced in conjunction with Resonant Motion, Inc. and the Inner Arts Initiative.

Sunday, December 17, 4PM, $20  |  Purchase tickets for Choral Masterworks Christmas Concert
The Asylum Hill Sanctuary Choir, orchestra, and soloists, under the direction of Jack A. Pott present three choral masterworks for the Christmas season: Laud to the Nativity, by Ottorino Respighi, Christmas Oratorio, by Camille Saint-Saëns, and Magnificat, by Sir John Rutter, along with an audience carole-sing, and Nigel Hess’ thrilling Christmas Overture for orchestra.

Sunday, March 18, 4PM, $20  |  Purchase tickets for Alturas Duo & Cuarteto Latinoamericano 
The internationally renowned, multi-Latin Grammy winning, Cuarteto Latinoamericano will combine forces with the Alturas Duo to perform vibrant, virtuosic music to warm you up on a winter’s day. The program will feature music by Farías, Villa-Lobos and the world premiere of Esteban d’Antona’s “Suite Folclórica Argentina.” Don’t miss this rare opportunity!

Sunday, April 22, 4PM, $20  |  Purchase tickets for Annunciation Concert
Featuring Paul Barnes (piano), the Chiara String Quartet, the  Schola Cantorum of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, and AHCC Sanctuary Choir, this concert will present the East Coast premiere of The Annunciation, by Philip Glass for piano and string quartet. All are invited to Drew Hall to view the exhibit of images from the current archaeological dig in Nazareth of the first century Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation.
