Helena was raised in West Hartford, CT and following graduation from Trinity College with a Bachelor’s in Political Science, Helena moved to Boston where she pursued a career in commercial real estate operations management. Identified as an emerging leader in her industry, she was elected to lead her peer group and to sit on the Board of Directors for the Building Owners and Managers Association. Helena returned to school, graduating from Suffolk University with a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Public Administration.
Throughout her career, Helena combined her interest in business and serving the community by building relationships with local nonprofit organizations and developing fundraising and volunteer opportunities. Helena is a co-founder of Tomorrow’s Women TODAY, The Boston Women’s Leadership Council, an organization that provides mentoring opportunities to women identified as emerging leaders. Having spent a decade in the for-profit sector, Helena enjoys being able to serve in the nonprofit sector.
A first generation Portuguese-American, Helena is fluent in Portuguese and enjoys visiting Portugal regularly. In her free time, Helena enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to music and fostering her passions in fashion and cooking.
